Heights rolled to a 10-4 win over Mayfield in the first round of the State Tournament. The Tigers jumped in front with four goals in the first before the Wildcats threatened to make it a close game with two goals early in the second period. Heights responded with three more and had a comfortable 7-2 lead entering the third. They eventually went up 10-2 before Mayfield tacked on a couple late goals. Ben Urbas led the Tigers with three goals, giving him four hat tricks this season. Tyler Rudy and Trey Hopkins each scored twice. Additional goals came from Dominic DiTirro, Constantin Blaschke and Isaac Brown. Aidan Hall stopped 23 shots in the win. |
