The Tigers started the year with a win over the Rocky River Club Buccaneers in the Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl. Trailing 2-1 after one period, Heights took the lead with a three-goal second period. Trey Hopkins scored three of the team's first four goals, while Ian Kraus added the other. In the third period, Rocky River moved back within one, but the Tigers answered with three more goals to put the game out of reach. Tyler Rudy scored twice in the third and Ben Urbas notched one. Aidan Hall stopped 20 shots for the victory.
