The Tigers finished the Bowling Green Thanksgiving Tournament by facing off against the
Brooklyn Hurricanes. Brooklyn took the lead with a goal in the first period while the
Tigers' offense continued to sputter. Through the first two periods, Heights' offense
created many scoring opportunities but they simply couldn't take advantage of them. All
the while Matt Crowell was playing another outstanding
game in net, seemingly cursed by an offense that would not provide him any support.
Finally, a few minutes into the third period, Dan
Cross-Call buried the Tigers' first goal of the season to snap the team's eight
period scoreless streak. Soon after that, Jeff Houser
notched his first career goal and Brendon Benner scored
his first of the season to secure a 3-1 victory. Crowell finished with 27 saves and the
Tigers remarkably ended up with a second-place finish in the tournament. |
