For the second game in a row, Heights lost a tough decision at home by a one-goal margin.
The Tigers were playing catch-up for most of the game as defensive zone turnovers allowed
St. Ignatius to build a 3-0 lead in the first and second periods. Heights' offense would
spring to life soon enough, however. Brendon Benner was
set-up by Andrew West for the Tigers' first goal and
then Lee Allen scored his third of the year to cut the
deficit to one. Unfortunately, the Tigers still had trouble keeping St. Ignatius off the
scoreboard and the deficit was back to two goals by the end of the period. Early in the
third, a goal by Pat Collins brought Heights within one,
but St. Ignatius answered again making it 5-3. Lee Allen notched his second goal of the
game in the final minute of the third period but the Tigers could not manage the tying
goal and wound up with another disappointing loss. |
