The Tigers traveled to Pittsburgh for the Bethel Park MLK Tournament and played their
first game against the host Bethel Park Blackhawks. Joe
Ross put Heights in front early, scoring in his third consecutive game, but the
Tigers missed many good scoring chances and failed to expand on the 1-0 lead. Bethel Park
tied the score later in the first and neither team scored in the second period, setting up
a disastrous third. It started with Heights allowing a pivotal short-handed goal. Then the
Tigers' backchecking weakened and Bethel Park converted on a number of breakaways and
odd-man rushes. Jeremy Holmes scored late, but Bethel
Park's four-goal burst had put the game out of reach. |
