The Tigers staged a big comeback in the opening game of the Gilmour Invitational
Tournament, but couldn't pull off a victory over Gilmour's prep team. Heights was
trailing 6-3 entering the third period when the offense came alive.
Andrew West picked up a powerplay goal,
Joe Ross netted his second of the game, and West scored
again to even things at six. Although the Tigers had some more good scoring chances, they
were unable to take the lead, and Gilmour came up with the seventh and decisive goal.
Heights got a goal from Marcus Dancy in the first period
but Gilmour led 2-1 at intermission. In the second period, Gilmour jumped way out in front
with three goals in the first three minutes, but Kyle
Barden and Joe Ross each scored to set up the third period rally. |
