In the year 2000, the Tigers' season once again opened with the Bowling Green
Thanksgiving Tournament. Heights' first opponent was Ridley College from St.
Catharines, Ontario. Ridley never really mounted an offensive attack, and Heights led
the final shot total 39-13. Goaltender Matt Crowell
faced very few difficult chances in this 13 save shutout.
Dan Cross-Call recorded the first goal of the game
early in the first period. Despite an enormous amount of scoring chances, the Tigers
would not score again until the third period when
Andrew West converted a pass from
Pat Collins on a 2-on-1.
Mike Ruflin blasted a shot from the point to round
out the scoring. Another note worth mentioning is that Heights finished the game
having committed only one penalty.
