Heights lost to the Findlay Trojans by the score of 3-2 to finish a disappointing
weekend. Superior forechecking helped the Tigers create all manner of scoring
chance, but Heights could only muster 5 goals on 89 shots during the three-game
tournament. Findlay scored first with a powerplay goal in the opening period, but
the Tigers countered with an Andrew West powerplay
goal in the second. Heights played well in the second and into the third period,
peaking when Carl Rose hammered home his first
career goal to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead. After that goal, however, Heights' play
dropped off considerably. Findlay was the better team throughout the final ten
minutes of play, taking advantage of a poor defensive period by the Tigers. The
Trojans tied the game with about five minutes remaining, and got the winning goal
with a mere 13 seconds left on the clock.
Matt Crowell stopped 24 of 27 shots for the Tigers. |
