Heights started the league portion of the schedule with a wild overtime loss against
Hudson. The Tigers never trailed in regulation, taking a one-goal lead on four
occasions, but Hudson answered each time. Heights brought a 2-1 lead into the locker
room after one period thanks to a pair of goals by
Dee Samuel. Hudson scored the only goal of the
second period, then Paris Murray put the Tigers
back on top with a shorthanded goal early in the third. The Explorers tied it within
five minutes, but Jason Kelce knocked in a rebound
to recapture the lead at 4-3. That lead only lasted for a minute and a half as Hudson
evened the score in the final two minutes. Both teams had frequent scoring chances
throughout the game, and that didn't change in overtime. Hudson scored the game-winner
four minutes in. Goaltender Daley Baker finished
with 20 saves, keeping Heights in the game with his quick reflexes.
