The Tigers played a solid game on the road against Mentor, but fell short in a 3-1
loss. The major reason for defeat was the failure to capitalize on scoring chances.
Opportunities were plentiful, but poor finishing and fine Cardinal goaltending
conspired to stifle Heights' offense. Dan Crowell's
first goal of the season put the Tigers on top in the opening minutes, but Mentor
scored three times in a four-minute span later in the period. Two of the Cardinal's
goals came directly off of Heights turnovers. The Tigers also struggled on special
teams, going 0-4 on the powerplay, including a two-man advantage. On the other hand,
they stayed out of the box, making it through the full game without an infraction for
the second time this season. Daley Baker started in
net and made 19 saves.
