It wasn't a pretty win, but the Tigers will take it. WRA outworked Heights for two
periods, but the Tigers finally showed some life in the third, scoring three times to
win 5-2. The fact that the game was still within reach after two periods is a testament
to the outstanding performance by Daley Baker between
the pipes. He made double-digit saves in each of the first two periods on his way to 34
total. Dee Samuel broke a 2-2 tie in the third period,
unleashing a thunderbolt from the point for a powerplay goal. He scored again minutes
later with a strong move out of the corner. Add in the goal he had already recorded in
the first period, and Dee Samuel ends up with his first hat trick.
Paris Murray also scored in the first period, and
Jason Kelce tacked on an empty-netter.
