The Tigers eked out their first league victory with a late goal against Kent Roosevelt.
Andrew Brandt's first goal of the season put Heights ahead
1-0 in the opening frame, and that lead held up until late in the third. The Tigers were
outworked for much of the third period and Kent finally tied the score on a powerplay with
five minutes remaining. But Heights battled right back to retake the lead in the final two
minutes. Captain Brad Shoger took the puck off the side
boards, cut through the face-off circle and snapped a low shot along the ice for the
game-winner. Daley Baker was strong in net, making 31
saves and getting his first win of the year. |
