A successful season for Heights came to a close with a 3-1 loss to Kenston in the State Tournament. The Bombers entered the game with the best record in Northeast Ohio at 30-2, but the Tigers skated hard and pushed them to the limit. As usual, Liam Robinson kept Heights in the game against a tough opponent, totaling 42 saves. After a scoreless first period, the Tigers struck first when Chris Zirm knocked in a loose puck in the second. Zirm scored in four out of five games after returning from a month-long injury. The momentum didn't last long as Kenston scored on the next shift and it was 1-1 heading into the third. Six minutes into the period, the Bombers found an opening in front of the net and went in front 2-1. Heights had two powerplay opportunities in the latter half of the period but they came up short. Kenston added an empty-netter with twenty seconds left.
