Saturday night at the NDCL Winter Invitational saw Heights facing Mentor JV. The Tigers outshot the Cardinals 37-15 but had trouble putting them away. To have a shot at qualifying for the championship game, Heights needed to win not just the game, but they needed to outscore Mentor in each individual period. Tyler Rudy and Ben Urbas each scored in the first period, then Ian Kraus put one away in the second. It wasn't until the final minute of the third period that Ben Urbas came through with his second goal of the game, preserving the Tigers' hopes to compete in the championship. Aidan Hall recorded his fourth shutout of the season, stopping all 15 shots he faced. |
