The Tigers captured the Blue East division championship with a win over Canfield, wrapping up an 11-1 regular season. Heights peppered the Cardinals with 61 shots, but Canfield's goaltender managed to keep it scoreless until the second period. Ben Urbas broke the deadlock with a powerplay goal early in the second and Trey Hopkins soon made it 2-0. Hopkins scored two more in the third period for his fifth hat trick of the season. Urbas added a shorthanded goal and Dominic DiTirro finished the scoring. Aidan Hall only needed to make 5 saves for his 7th shutout and 16th win of the season. This is the second division title in three years for Heights, after they claimed a share of the Blue North championship in 2010. |
