1/24/98 Cleveland Heights 3 - Mentor 0
Heights rebounded from consecutive shutout losses and ended a three game losing streak
with a 3-0 victory over Mentor. The Tigers defeated the Cardinals in all three of their
matchups this season, never allowing a Mentor goal.
Andrew Markus stopped 19 shots in his second
shutout of the year. Sean Clark scored the
only goal the Tigers would need when he deflected a
Marcus Dancy shot past Mentor's goaltender.
Eric Aber made the score 2-0 on a goal from the
high slot with less than a minute remaining in the first period. The only other goal of
the game came with 40 seconds remaining in the second period as Marcus Dancy buried a
rebound to give Heights a three-goal lead. Markus withstood a barrage of shots late in
the third period to preserve his seventh win of the season.
