Cleveland Heights opened the 1998-99 season in traditional fashion by participating in the Bowling Green Thanksgiving Tournament. Their first opponents were the Erie McDowell Trojans, in the first of three meetings between these two teams this year. Although the Tigers looked a little rusty, they managed to come away with a 2-1 victory. Senior co-captains Eric Aber and Brian Clark scored the two Heights goals while Matt Crowell stopped 17 of 18 shots to get the win.
