The Tigers suffered another disappointing defeat to a Red North Division rival in a 7-1
loss to Shaker Heights. The Tigers started the game with a strong seven minutes before
softening to allow two quick Shaker goals. From that point, Heights was never really able
to get back into the game. With the Tigers being outmuscled in front of their own net,
goaltender Matt Crowell faced a continuous onslaught of
point blank shots. Even with seven goals allowed, Crowell frequently came up with
outstanding saves. The Heights offense produced enough shots to remain hopeful of a
comeback, but an inability to capitalize on rebounds kept the Tigers off the scoreboard.
Defenseman Mike Ruflin scored on a powerplay in the
second period to produce the lone Heights goal. |
