Heights dropped a 2-1 defensive battle to Gilmour at the Thornton Park Tournament. The
Tigers have played their two best games of the season against Gilmour, but each has
ended as a one-goal loss. No goals were scored in the first two periods of this game,
but they were exciting nonetheless. Particularly the second period, where the Tigers
unleashed their checking game resulting in many punishing hits. In the third period,
penalties helped spark some offense. Gilmour scored the first goal a minute in and then
took a 2-0 lead on a powerplay goal. Heights answered with a powerplay goal by
Carl Rose, his fifth goal of the year. More Gilmour
penalties gave the Tigers a two-man advantage for about one minute, but Heights could
not produce the tying goal. Ben Gaglioti was once
again superb in net, stopping 19 shots.
