Heights failed to live up to prior performances against Gilmour, losing 5-0 in a
critical divisional game. The Tigers fell behind the eight ball early with a poor first
period. After a scoreless half period, Gilmour turned up the offensive pressure and
scored three times in a five minute span. Goaltender
Ben Gaglioti kept the score close, stopping 22 shots
in the first period alone. Heights' offense tried to create scoring chances, but was
frequently stifled by Gilmour's clutching and grabbing style of defense. Noticeably
irritated by the officials' refusal to curtail Gilmour's interference, the Tigers took
more of a physical approach in the final period. Heights also eventually put a puck in
the net, but you won't find it on the official scoresheet.
Jeff Houser fired a shot that caromed out of the net
too quickly for the refs to notice, thus the goal was not counted.
