Heights lost to the Normandy Invaders in game three of the Heights Holiday Tournament.
Both teams took a couple of one-goal leads, and both teams twice fought back to tie
during this seesaw battle. Normandy took a 1-0 lead five minutes into the first period
and Joe Ross tied the score with his third goal of
the season. Jeff Houser gave Heights a 2-1 lead in
the second period but Normandy came back to tie the game. The Tigers immediately
reclaimed the lead when Milton Carter scored his
first goal of the year, but Normandy once again came back to even the score. The
Invaders went back on top with a powerplay goal early in the third period but
Mike Ruflin scored a powerplay goal of his own to
make it a 4-4 game. The score remained the same until the final minute of the game.
Heights allowed a breakaway and Normandy scored the winning goal with 50 seconds left
on the clock.
