Heights frittered away a third period lead in a disappointing 5-4 loss to Hudson. Two
strong periods put the Tigers in front 3-1, but a four-minute lapse in the third undid
all their hard work. The Explorers scored four nearly identical goals as Heights lost the
battles in the corners and didn't pick up in front of the net. Hudson kept winning the
puck behind the goal line, then throwing it to the slot where an unguarded forward could
score an easy goal. Trailing 5-3, Dan Bray's first
career goal moved the Tigers back within one, but they went to a sixth attacker and still
couldn't force the tie. Heights' first three goals came as the product of solid play in
the offensive zone. Paris Murray scored on a rebound in
the first period. Alex Kraus converted
Rollin Hannah's centering pass in the second, then
Ethan Farris scored on a powerplay, redirecting
Jason Kelce's shot from the point.
