Heights made it three wins in a row with a 3-2 decision over Holy Name. The Tigers
might've broken the game open, except they struggled to put the puck away all night.
Jason Kelce gave Heights a 1-0 lead in the first period
and the Tigers turned the next two periods into a shooting gallery, but they rang more
pucks off the iron than they put in the net. The Green Wave tied it at one in the second
period before Dee Samuel regained the lead with a goal
in the third. Holy Name followed with a shorthanded goal to tie it again, then
Andrew Brandt came through on a powerplay with three
minutes to go. He took a pass along the blue line from Samuel, stepped in from the point
and fired through a screen for his first career goal.
Daley Baker stopped 20 of 22 shots in the victory, while
Heights put a season-high 38 shots on the Green Wave net. This game marked the Tigers'
first visit to Brooklyn since their memorable trip to
the Sweet 16 in the 2002 state playoffs.
